THC-P FAQ

What Is THCP?

Tetrahydrocannabinol is one of the new cannabinoids on the block; it is a phytocannabinoid. Phytocannabinoids are a structurally diverse class of naturally occurring chemical constituents in the genus.

Is THCP Legal?

THCP is still an analog of THC. All analogs of THC are prohibited under the Federal Analogue Act (FAA) by default unless removed by law.
However, since THCP exists naturally in hemp carrying up to 0.3% THC, many argue it’s protected under the Agriculture Improvement Act (2018 Farm Bill), a critical piece of legislation federally legalizing hemp and all hemp derivatives (not including THC).

How Is THCP Different from THC?

It appears that having more carbon atoms in its side chain makes THCP far more potent than THC.
The molecular structures of THC and THCP are almost identical. The thing that distinguishes them is a part of their make-up called a ‘side alkyl chain.’
An alkyl chain is a string of carbon and hydrogen atoms attached to a molecule. In THC, the alkyl chain consists of five carbon atoms. However, in THCP, it consists of seven.

What can THCP do for you and your body?

Pros of THCP on human cannabinoid receptors are

  • Hypomobility
  • Pain-relief (analgesia)
  • Decreased temperature in the rectum
It also will help with sleep for those suffering from insomnia.
