Delta 8 Gummies

Delta 8 has quickly grown in popularity rather recently, and the reasons why are pretty clear. Delta 8 is not the THC molecule that is more typically considered to be illegal, which makes it more widely accessible for people who live in places where traditional THC is unavailable. Additionally, Delta 8 offers a mellower and more manageable high than traditional THC, making it more comfortable for those who want to avoid anxiety and paranoia, as well as for those who have a lot to do throughout the day. Ready for a more relaxed high? Try some of our Delta 8 gummies!

What is Delta 8 THC?

Tetrahydrocannabinol, more commonly known as THC, is the primary chemical compound that gives cannabis its psychoactive properties. That being said, THC doesn’t technically refer to one compound alone, but multiple isomers that can be found in both cannabis and hemp plants. Usually, however, the acronym is used to refer to Delta 9 specifically, the “usual” THC isomer. Isomers are different molecules that have the same number of elements, just different molecular arrangements. In the case of Delta 9, the molecule has a double bond on the ninth link of the carbon chain.

Delta 8 is an isomer of Delta 9, which means that they have identical chemical formulas, just different arrangements. Specifically, you’ll find the double bond on Delta 8’s eighth link of the chain instead of the ninth. While this difference is (literally) microscopic, it actually has quite a significant effect to take into account. For one, this means that Delta 8 and Delta 9 interact differently with your Endocannabinoid System (ECS), meaning that the highs experienced between the two are a bit different. Another difference comes in term of legality. Within the United States, Delta 9 is the specific molecule that is considered federally illegal, but is actually only one of over a hundred different cannabinoids that can be found in hemp or cannabis plants. This is why other cannabinoids, such as CBD, are fully legal to purchase and consume in many states. This is also the reason why Delta 8 is widely legal and available in the US—a very similar molecular structure to Delta 9, but not identical.

What are Delta 8 gummies?

Just like other THC or CBD gummies, Delta 8 gummies are gummies made with delta-8-tetrahydrocannabinol. They’re a quick, tasty, and discrete way of taking Delta 8 that will deliver the same great effects and benefits as other forms of consumption.

Delta 8 is naturally occurring in both cannabis and hemp plants, but unlike other THC molecules, Delta 8 only shows up in as little as 1% of the plant. This makes harvesting Delta 8 flower in a traditional sense out of the question. Delta 8 flower, for example, is created by spraying or soaking hemp flower in order to infuse the hemp with Delta 8. The result is a great, relaxing product. Of course, an ideal solution would be to breed plants rich in Delta 8 already, but this process takes quite a bit of time. Fear not, however, as Delta 8 rich plants are already in the process of development!

Can Delta 8 gummies get you high?

Yes, Delta 8 gummies can most certainly get you high. In fact, that’s their intended purpose. Delta 8 and Delta 9 are very similar compounds that both interact with your Endocannabinoid System, so it makes sense that they would both have psychoactive effects when consumed. The difference between these effects, however, is part of what makes Delta 8 so popular.

Delta 8 is generally described as providing a “milder” high than Delta 9, which means that you’ll experience the benefits of traditional THC, but without some of the risks or drawbacks. You’ll feel the relaxation, euphoria, and pain-relief, but without running the risk of anxiety or paranoia. If you’ve tried THC before and had a bad experience with these drawbacks, Delta 8 might be a better and more comfortable option for you.

A milder and more relaxing high also means that Delta 8 can be a better option for those who want or need to consume THC, but that have plenty to get done throughout the day. A traditional THC high can be “too much” to be productive throughout the day, and might leave you relaxing on the couch for hours. This means Delta 9 is often out of the question when there are things to get done. If you still need that relaxation or pain-relief throughout a busy day, however, Delta 8’s more manageable high is a better option.

What is the difference between CBD gummies and Delta 8 gummies?

Cannabinoids, such as CBD and Delta 8, are chemical substances found in cannabis or hemp that interact with the endocannabinoid system. The chemical and molecular structures of these two specific substances are the most obvious distinction between them.

As stated above, Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, commonly known as THC, is the major psychoactive component commonly linked with cannabis. THC, to be more precise, technically refers only to the last half of the word, "tetrahydrocannabinol"; there are chemicals other than Delta 9 that can fall within this category. One of these molecules is Delta-8-tetrahydrocannabinol, or Delta 8. CBD, on the other hand, contains no THC and is therefore not a psychoactive component of cannabis (or hemp). This means that, when it comes to consumption, CBD and Delta 8 are actually quite different. There are many benefits to taking CBD, but it simply cannot deliver a high. Delta 8 will deliver a high, although it will be milder than a Delta 9 high.

Of course, when it comes to the gummies specifically, CBD gummies are infused with CBD oil while Delta 8 gummies are infused with Delta 8. Both are tasty, quick, and easy to take, but the former will deliver the benefits of CBD with no high while the latter will deliver the benefits of Delta 8 with a mild high.

How do you use Delta 8 gummies?

Just like any other gummies, Delta 8 gummies are straightforward. Just pop a gummy in your mouth, chew, and swallow, and you should be feeling the effects within 30-45 minutes. Specific dosage will vary by individual, but the recommend serving size is one gummy. If you want an even milder effect, you can also cut a gummy in half and only eat one part of it.
