What Are Awake Gummies?

Why use just one cannabinoid when you can have the power of three? Elyxr’s latest product, Awake Gummies were designed to make you feel calm, relaxed, and energized. These revolutionary edibles combine CBD, CBG, and delta 9 to help you feel your best.

Keep reading to learn more about CBD, CBG, and delta 9, and why these cannabinoids work so well together.

What is CBD?

CBD or Cannabidiol is one of 113 cannabinoids that have been discovered in the cannabis plant, and alongside THC it is one of the most common cannabinoids found in the plant. Discovered in 1940, CBD offers a lot of the pain-relieving and mood-boosting benefits of THC without the psychoactivity. Additionally, unlike delta 9 THC, CBD is fully fereally legal and widely available. This cannabinoid is most commonly consumed through oil tinctures and edibles, although there are topical creams, vapes, and even makeup containing CBD available on the market today.

CBD is a mood booster, and creates a relaxed, peaceful feeling in users. Some additional benefits of CBD include:

  • Pain relief
  • Anti-nausea
  • Migraine relief

CBD has shown promise as a treatment for Epilepsy, Parkinson’s Disease, PTSD, and others, athough more research is required in these areas.

What Makes CBD Different From THC?

The biggest thing that sets CBD apart from THC, Tetrahydrocannabinol, is the fact that CBD isn’t psychoactive. This means that CBD won’t give you the same “high” feeling that THC products do. However, that doesn’t mean that CBD is useless, when it is, in fact, far from it. CBD still has a multitude of beneficial medicinal qualities for many users. THC has many of the same medicinal properties as CBD, but also gives users a psychoactive experience that may not be ideal for everyone.

What is CBG?

Cannabigerol, also known as CBG, is yet another cannabinoid obtained from the cannabis plant. Like CBD, CBG is also not psychoactive, so there is no chance of getting “high” by using it. CBG is found in smaller quantities in the cannabis plant, usually around 1% of CBG can be found in a plant in contrast to around 25% of CBD or 30% of THC. CBG is typically derived from younger cannabis plants, which contain the highest concentration of this cannabinoid. Because of its low concentration in the cannabis plant CBG can sometimes be expensive and harder to find, but this cannabinoid is becoming increasingly more popular to produce, sell, and purchase.

Like CBD, CBG is known to help users feel more relaxed and calm, but also sharper and more focused. Additional commonly reported benefits of CBG include:

  • Pain relief
  • Appetite stimulation

Some studies have shown that CHG could be an effective treatment for Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Glaucoma, and Huntington’s Disease, although more research is necessary in these areas.

How do CBD and CBG Work?

Both CBD and CBG are processed through the body’s endocannabinoid system, which is a series of receptors. There are two different types of receptors, CB1, which is found in the nervous system, and CB2, which are found in the immune system. CBG binds to both CB1 and CB2 receptors, whereas CBD works in a more indirect way with the receptors, it stimulates them so that the body produces its own endocannabinoids.

What is Delta 9?

Delta 9 Tetrahydrocannabinol or delta 9 THC is the traditional version of THC and is the active ingredient in the Marijuana plant, and protects it from the sun’s rays as well as insects. This cannabinoid is the primary psychoactive compound in the cannabis plant, and as such, provides users with the typical “high” associated with marijuana products. Delta 9 is often referred to simply as THC, as opposed to delta 8 or delta 10 which are discussed using their full names to avoid confusion. Delta 9 is currently federally illegal in most states in the U.S.

Delta 9 gives users a fun psychoactive experience while also relieving anxiety and creating a serene sense of wellbeing. Additional benefits of delta 9 include:

  • Pain relief
  • Appetite stimulation
  • Insomnia relief

Although delta 9 is commonly used recreationally, evidence suggests that it could also be an effective treatment for siezures, HIV/AIDS symptoms, PTSD, and muscle spasticity, although more research is required in these areas.

How Are Awake Gummies Legal?

One of the biggest features of our Awake Gummies, is that they are legal to purchase in all 50 states. But you may be wondering, how is that possible? It all comes down to the 2018 Farm Bill, also known as the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018. This bill changed the legal classification of hemp from a controlled substance to an agricultural commodity and made it so that any cannabis derivative containing less than 0.3% delta 9 THC would no longer be defined as marijuana in regards to the controlled substances act, legalizing CBD and CBG.

While our Awake Gummies do contain 2.5mg of delta 9 per serving, this delta 9 is hemp-derived from plants that contain less than 0.3% of it on a dry weight basis. This means that although it is practically the same as normal delta 9, it is legal to sell nationwide through the 2018 Farm Bill.

David Nadel is a freelance copywriter and content writer who has been doing content creation since late 2014. He originally worked at a marketing tech company in Boston doing email marketing and SEO display ad campaigns (where he helped to create the content for those emails and banner ads for clients) before going full time as a freelance writer in 2017.

It all started working with clients in the vaping industry in 2013, where David got his opportunities to do more freelance work for that industry the following year because of his success with helping those clients with emails and ads. And, which led him writing for the hemp industry too, as he had already been an avid cannabis enthusiast going all the way back to 2011.

Because of his extensive knowledge and legit passion with non-psychoactive and psychoactive cannabinoids, coupled with his better understanding of shrooms (mushrooms) since 2015, and the kratom/kava industry since 2019, it has allowed him to create some of the most remarkable, out-of-the box, and informative content in the industry.

Even today, David still keeps on top of what’s happening in the cannabis, shrooms, and kratom/kava industries, like new research and data studies, wellness trends, legality, and emerging cannabinoids and strains, in order to supply the most up-to-date, precise educational, fun, and engaging content. That way, new and experienced users alike can really understand what this amazing industry has to offer while still being fully informed.
