When you think back to America’s favorite snacks growing up, Oreo is 100% in the top 5 favorites. In fact, we’re all more than familiar with the classic Oreos – those rich chocolate biscuit cookies with smooth vanilla cream in the middle – but the brand’s products outside of the United States are totally unique from the standard variety we’re used to, and absolutely worth checking out.

Fortunately, ELYXR has introduced a new collection of Exotic Snacks. A hot addition to other outstanding savory and sweet delights, Oreos from all over the world deliver out-of-the-box flavor profiles to entice you when those munchies kick in.

Rich Basics

Oreo is pretty much a pantry staple here in the US, but these Asian Oreo Ultra Thin Biscuits are unlike anything you’ve tasted on the domestic market. The wafers are, as you may have guessed, particularly thin, and what makes these cookie sandwiches unique is the flavoring of the cream inside. You can choose from the flavors below:

• Matcha Fig
• Rose (0 calories)

How It’s Packaged

It’s hard to argue that the packaging associated with exotic snacks can be almost as exciting as what’s inside. There’s a major novelty factor to seeing Oreos with the familiar color scheme, but with writing in another language, and graphics that you just wouldn’t see here in the United States. The image of the actual Oreos on the label draws you in immediately.

Now, one thing you do need to keep in mind is that none of the writing on these bags is in English – after all, these are exotic snacks. So, unless you happen to know the language of the country that your particular flavor comes from, good luck understanding the information on the bag, like the ingredients list.

Awesome Flavors

We ended up going with two flavors since we couldn’t choose just one – Rose, and Matcha Fig. Let’s begin with Rose.

Truth be told, we had no idea what to expect. The idea of rose, chocolate, and vanilla together is something that was totally unfamiliar to us. But, the flavor combo is absolutely stunning! The rose adds a floral and surprisingly sweet yet delicate addition to the classic Oreo taste, and it wasn’t “soapy” as we were worried it might be. This one is highly recommended.

As for Matcha Fig, the flavor was a bit more complex, in a way that you’d probably have to really enjoy both those flavors to like it. We’re all about matcha, and were surprised by how well it blends with fig. The sweetness of the fig is balanced by the earthy, mellow matcha taste, so while this flavor is a bit more “exotic” than the others, it’s a must-have if you’re into traditional Asian flavor profiles.

Let’s be real – traditional Oreos are a foolproof reach when you’re high, but these exotic Oreo flavors take your munchies game to a whole new level.
